Jorge Calandrelli Mourns the Loss of Tony Bennett

Jorge Calandrelli’s friendship and collaboration with Tony Bennett spans more than 40 years.

 

           "Dearest Tony,  You were a wonderful and good friend, a great inspiration

            and an unsurpassable artist, May you shine forever with the brightest stars

            above…I will always miss you,  Jorge"

Tony Bennett said the following about Jorge Calandrelli:

​

         "Dear Jorge, a song never had a better friend than you. Thank you so much for many                years of your beautiful arrangements.  With love, Tony Bennett." (Billboard 2012)



          “Jorge Calandrelli is a master arranger, and it has been a pleasure to have worked with            him on so many recordings throughout my career.”

 

          After visiting the Frick Museum in New York together, Tony dedicated the book “The                Paintings of The Frick Collection” to Jorge and wrote: “To Jorge. Your music is like these            paintings to me. Thank you!  Tony Bennett A/K/A Benedetto.”   (1991)

Jorge Calandrelli was the orchestral arranger and conductor on 14 Tony Bennett albums, more projects with Tony Bennett than any other arranger. The first album was in 1986

and the last one in 2021.
